SIR - Matt Partridge of Gamesa wind company says the people of the UK are in favour of wind farms. They certainly are not in the Mawr area of Swansea. An independent survey carried out last year by WDA- approved consultants for the Mawr Development Trust found that 83% did not want a wind farm in Mawr. This figure rose to 85% (exit poll of attendees) after visiting the wind company's exhibition.
The Scarweather wind farm prompted 3,100 objections to the Assembly, and just nine letters of support. There were 1,350 objections to the DTI regarding the Cefn Croes wind farm - a huge planning response particularly regarding a rural area.See the full content of this document
