SIR - Wyn Prichard's letter (February 29) clearly indicates why we have a shortage of craftspeople in Wales. When the Director of Wales Construction Skills states that the first remedy to the demands of the construction industry is to "work closely with colleges" I shudder with disbelief!
Craft apprenticeships cannot be completed in a college - apprentices have to work in industry for three years at least.
