AN INVESTIGATION by the National Audit Office into how theWales Audit Office was run by Jeremy Colman has confirmed a series of irregularities.
A report to be considered by the National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee tomorrow states: "Since 2005-06, the accounts (of theWAO) have not been in accordance with the Treasury Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) due to a failure to recognise the ongoing pension commitments of staff leaving the organisation through redundancy or severance, and since 2006-07 the accounts have not been in accordance with the FReM requirement to account for the Auditor General's public funding through reserves rather than through the income and expenditure account."See the full content of this document
