RESCUERS yesterday criticised a father who took a two-year-old child to the summit of 3,560ft Snowdon in appalling weather.

They said the youngster was purple and showing other signs of hypothermia after being carried in a backpack to the top of the highest mountain in Wales despite 60mph gales and driving rain.
