UNEMPLOYMENT in the US hit the highest rate since 1983 last month, figures showed yesterday.
The February total hit 8.1%. During the month 651,000 people lost their jobs as the US economy continued to suffer. In all, 4.4 million people have been made redundant since the recession began in December 2007.See the full content of this document
