A community volunteer who left school at 15 with no qualifications has been named Welsh Adult Learner of the Year. Tina Davies, 36, had to leave school because she was pregnant. But she began volunteering at the T Fforest Community House in Ravenhill in Swansea and went on to gain training and her first qualifications.

After leaving school with no qualifications, low self-esteem and becoming a young parent, Tina then experienced serious health problems which led to long-term unemployment.
