Welsh mp Lembit Opik has promised to fight again for the post of Liberal Democrat president after losing out to rival Simon Hughes.

In a ballot of party members, Mr Opik polled 30%, totalling 10,002 votes while the North Southwark and Bermondsey MP polled 24,333.
