Summary
SIR - We, the undersigned, like many people in the community, have been very concerned of late by the high number of apparent suicides by young people in the county borough of Bridgend. We would all agree that one suicide is one too many, and we applaud efforts being made by various statutory and voluntary bodies under the chairmanship of the Bridgend MP, Madeleine Moon, to seek a way to implement a suicide prevention strategy in our area.
Like many people in the community, we have also been very concerned at the way in which Bridgend has been (mis)represented in the national media, and would add our voices to those who say that our town and county borough have a great deal going for them, and are far from being the depressing and gloom-laden places that were so often portrayed.See the full content of this document
