SIR - I am a rugby man but I am quite partial to a good game of footie; however, I have grown weary of this meaningless on-going debate about which is our national sport, especially when the whole argument is so easily resolved (the number who play is an irrelevance, otherwise fishing, darts or road-running would fill the sports pages).
