MAKING changes to diet and lifestyle could prevent almost a quarter of cases of bowel cancer, researchers believe. A study published today makes a firm link between an unhealthy lifestyle, a person's weight and cases of bowel cancer, which is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in Wales.

The researchers from Denmark found following recommendations on physical activity, waist circumference, smoking, alcohol and diet could reduce the risk of developing the disease by as much as 23%.
