Doctors will this week call for an end to Greenwich Mean Time in a bid to tackle the growing problem of child obesity. Rather than focusing purely on their diets, GPs are suggesting that we give children more daylight hours to play outdoors.

This would mean clocks going forward and falling in line with the rest of Europe.
