SIR - I wish to add some information regarding the cause of the 1950 Llandow air disaster (Feature, March 10; Letters, March 15).
An inquiry into the crash was carried out for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and one of the most crucial matters considered by the inquiry was the aircraft's centre of gravity. Its position determines how stable an aircraft is in flight and as the centre of gravity moves further back the aircraft becomes more and more unstable.See the full content of this document
