Lockerbie Legacy Left in Scrapyard

Summary


LANGUISHING in a rural scrapyard, this is all that remains of the Boeing 747 jumbo jet blown up in the Lockerbie bombing with the loss of 270 lives.

The jumbled heap of wreckage is surrounded by rusting cars and trucks and other aircraft parts at Roger Windley's scrapyard near Tattershall, Lincolnshire. Staff said the wreckage was being kept on behalf of the police, and made no further comment.
