Summary
A lottery millionaire was yesterday found guilty of rape and indecent assault after preying on two schoolgirls. Jackpot winner David Dyas, 52, won 'several millions' on the lottery nine years ago but opted for no publicity to keep his big win secret. Instead, he told friends and family he had struck it rich by selling a taxi business. But he also hid another secret - that he was a paedophile preying on two young girls aged between eight and 12. It took more than 15 years for the first victim, now aged 25, to come forward to seek justice. Prosecutor Martyn Kelly said, 'She was very scared and didn't tell anyone for a very long time. 'He abused her a number of times but matters became more serious when he took her to a local beauty spot where he raped her in bushes. 'A similar incident occurred in a house when Dyas gave her pounds 2 and told his victim, 'This is our little secret." Dyas, then working as a mechanic, promised to bring the other girl 'nice things' after abusing and raping her. Mr Kelly said, 'She remembers him putting his hand over her mouth to stop her crying.
'He also called that girl a whore and made her walk home from where he had driven her.'See the full content of this document
