Summary
About 200 workmen had a 'miraculous' escape yesterday when 15 floors of scaffolding collapsed 'like a pack of cards' at a hotel building site. Desperate workers apparently leaped in through windows at the half-constructed Jurys Inn Hotel in Milton Keynes as tons of metal and wood began crashing down. Emergency services dragged three people from the wreckage within minutes of the collapse in a busy commercial area at around 12.30pm. They were taken to hospital by air ambulance and were being treated for 'serious' injuries, although their condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
Thames Valley Police said they had not located any fatalities, and everyone at the scene had now been accounted for.See the full content of this document
