Summary

A man yesterday admitted abducting a teenage girl and taking her hundreds of miles away from her home. Martin Davies pleaded guilty at Newport Magistrates' Court to the abduction of Kayleigh Rapps, now 15, on July 1. The court heard that 23-year- old Davies of Cot Farm Circle, Newport, was staying with his girlfriend in a caravan in the garden of the teenager's home at the time of the incident. Following a street barbecue, Davies and Kayleigh left her home in Pengam in the Rhymney Valley in a Peugeot 306.

Jason Howells, prosecuting, said Kayleigh had packed some clothes and left a note telling her parents that she would not be returning.
