A meeting with a friend's au pair has resulted in a businessman being appointed Romania's honorary consul in Wales. Next week Clive Williams, joint managing director of the Hirwaun-based Crownford Group, will be officially inaugurated in a ceremony at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff. Mr Williams, who began his career as a solicitor but soon joined his brother Brad after Crownford was established in 1988, established an offshoot of the consultancy group in a remote northern region of Romania late last year.
