New rules to prevent the spread of vCJD by infected blood will further limit the number of people eligible to donate, it has been claimed. The move comes after experts confirmed a second patient developed variant Creutzfeldt- Jakob Disease - the so-called human equivalent of mad cow disease - after receiving an infected blood transfusion.
