Summary
The Newport specialist plastic pipe division of infrastructure venture, Hill and Smith, has helped bolster the group's pre-tax profits. The infrastructure, building and construction firm yesterday posted increased profits for its financial year to December 31, 2003, along with a steep fall in the group's borrowings.
Profit before taxation increased to pounds 7m compared with pounds 6.5m in 2002, an increase of 7.7%, helped by continued heavy public spending on road, rail and air transport systems. Dividends for the year were up again to 4.6p, compared with 4.5p in 2002.See the full content of this document
