A PAINTING by Walter Richard Sickert has been acquired by Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales . The Rialto Bridge and the Palazzo dei Camerlenghi, which was painted at the start of the 20th century, was purchased by the museum thanks to a significant funding grant from the Art Fund, which awarded pounds 35,000, and a contribution from the Derek Williams Trust.
The oil on canvas will complement and enhance other Venetian works by artists in the museum's collection such as Antonio Canaletto, Monet, Whistler, Eugne Boudin, Frank Brangwyn and the recently acquired works, View of the Palazzo Loredan dell'Ambasciatore on the Grand Canal, Venice by Francesco Guardi and Venice, Evening by Howard Hodgkin.See the full content of this document
