Summary
As acorns and apples weigh down the nation's trees in a particularly good 'mast year', nature-watchers have shattered the old folklore that lots of berries indicate we are in for a tough winter. They say that the reason there are more apples now in Wales than at anytime for 25 years and a profusion of all types of nuts and berries, particularly holly berries across the country, is more to do with the weather that went before than what is to come.
