Q. How should I be dressing my dining table this Christmas? A. I always think that how you dress your dining table for the big day is a very personal affair depending on the size of your dining table, interior colour scheme and so on. I always drool over the large set- ups you see in Christmas homeware catalogues and imagine 20 guests sitting at a perfectly arranged, elegant table full of towering candelabras, perfectly positioned plates and sparkling wine glasses; but in reality, I know this will never happen with my neat, oval- shaped table that seats six, or eight at a squeeze! So, I suggest going for a simple but oh-so-stylish combination of pared back neutrals such as this Christmas table - a Scandi-style red and white runner and napkins by Himla and a rustic looking table by de Spieghel, both available in store and online at Living in Store, looks fantastic and is right on trend this year. In other words, you can still create a stunning, welcoming and designer looking table without going over the top. Hooray for those of us who think less is more! Order online at www.livinginstore.com or by calling 01628 478767.
Q. I'm looking for some lovely, decorative napkin rings that will serve well for entertaining all year round, but also have a bit of Christmas about them. Any ideas? A. I would always suggest trying the usual suspects such as Heals, Habitat (still available online) or Zara Home when it comes to buying table accessories such as this as they are known for their classic designer ranges. But if you're after something with a nod to the festive season, how about these adorable Angel Napkin Rings from online interiors store, Seld, www.seld.co.uk. Sold in a set of four, they really are too pretty to hide away after Christmas and would add a beautiful finishing touch to your table on any special occasion. They measure H8cm x W10cm and cost pounds 12 per set. I've already got mine on order!See the full content of this document
