SIR - I thought that I would always know where I was with Patrick McGuiness. Apart from a letter to The Guardian in 2002 in which he described himself as 'a member of Cymuned', he has previously Identified himself 'as a Labour voter' before going on to criticise his chosen party in terms which drip with loathing.

In 'No sign of red water' (Letters, February 28) there is no sign of his allegiance, unless, in the last line he indicates that he is looking for a position with Ron Davies and Forward Wales?
