Summary


The basis of a successful integrated transport policy brings together seven elements of expenditure. They are: investment in road; rail; buses; public transport interchanges; walking and cycling facilities; traffic management; and public transport fare and service levels.

The recent Cardiff Chamber of Commerce report, Going the Extra Mile, which has all these ingredients, recognises an integrated transport policy with investment in transport infrastructure and public transport as a prerequisite of economic growth.
