Summary
SIR - Ceinwen Rees questions (Western Mail, July 12) a suggestion that wind turbines need have little impact on their surroundings, specifically birds and bats, and refers in evidence the findings of a study concerning windfarms in the Navarra region of Spain.
She does not mention, however, that the same study draws attention to the environmental unsuitability of the windfarm locations in Navarra. The study concludes that the bird mortality rate is an indicator of the wrong location of some of the Navarra windfarms, for which no pre-installation studies were undertaken about the use of space by birds and bats.See the full content of this document
