WHEN I moved to Brittany in 2004, I was writing the second part of my adult historical novel about Owain Glyndwr and his War of Independence. When that was finished I realised that something was missing from my life.

I'd taught adults creative writing since the mid-'80s, but in the early '90s, when my first children's novel, The Magic Apostrophe, was published, I also began doing workshops in schools. It was that I missed.
