SIR - In introducing the Western Mail's very welcome "Welsh History Month" (Magazine, Sept 18), Professor Dai Smith - not for the first time - goes to the heart of why, as the people of Wales, we need to understand our past, in all its diversity and ambiguity, if we are to have any chance of constructing a meaningful future.
