TWO Welsh athletes have continued the nation's historic success in Beijing, winning gold medals on the opening day of the Paralympic Games.

Cyclists Simon Richardson, from Porthcawl, and Ellen Hunter from Wrexham, the sighted pilot for partially-sighted Scottish cyclist Aileen McGlynn, yesterday helped the British team pick up three out of five gold medals on offer in track cycling.
