In a world increasingly characterised by regulation, tougher enforcement and heavy penalties for infringement, companies are increasingly turning to experienced facilities management (FM) companies, not only to manage their buildings and support services but to find the most practical and cost-effective way of ensuring compliance with all current UK and EU legislation.

The largest facilities management company in Wales, Caxton FM, with an annual turnover in excess of pounds 60m, manages more than 500 sites throughout the UK. Managing director, Colin Porton said, 'It is our experience that many companies are unaware of the responsibility they have to their staff and visitors. They are finding it more and more difficult to keep pace with the requirements of new statutes, which is why clients are increasingly turning to us to interpret the regulations.'
