Summary
AN initiative to buy and refurbish empty properties in Rhondda Cynon Taf to create affordable homes has received pounds 345,000 from the Heads of the Valleys programme.
The Homestep Plus scheme will enable Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council to work in partnership with a registered social landlord to provide an adequate supply of housing. Homestep Plus will provide the funding for a registered social landlord to buy a number of empty properties from private sector owners and refurbish them. They will then be offered for sale to first time buyers via a 30% equity loan through the council's low cost ownership scheme.See the full content of this document
