SIR - That the First Minister at last recognises the need to promote Wales as country overseas when spending Welsh public money is to be congratulated.
The anomaly of a British-run quango - VisitBritain - and a charity registered in England - The British Council - continuing to have the exclusive right to promote Wales overseas must be corrected immediately. They use Welsh public money with complete disregard to the 'Wales' brand characteristics as stated by the First Minister and remain totally unaccountable for their activities to the National Assembly. Only when Wales has control over all aspects of it promotion overseas can it effectively communicate 'Wales' the brand to our target markets.See the full content of this document
