One of Britain's most respected charities has reacted with alarm to claims by Cardiff City Council it is 'vital' that a major casino be built in Cardiff Bay so that a planned International Sports Village will be ready for the 2012 Olympics. The Salvation Army warned that the giant casino the council is bidding to bring to Cardiff would 'introduce hard forms of gambling that have never been seen before in this country'.
The council yesterday announced it was making an official bid to be chosen as the location of Britain's first Las Vegas-style regional casino, as made possible by the recent Gambling Act.See the full content of this document
