SIR - I just could not help but feel sorry for Mr Williams from Penarth who asserted that our wonderful language only serves to hold us back and that we could be so much further forward as a part of Britain and Europe if we abandoned it?
I think he is very mistaken, else why is it that in just about every country in Europe that has minority-speaking languages, these peoples are increasingly asserting their rights to have their languages treated as equals with the big boys, eg.
