WORK produced by one of the most important figures in the history of English ceramics, William Billingsley, during his South Wales sojourn will be at the heart of the latest Allen Lewis Antiques Fair, to be held in Margam Park's orangery from October 9 to 11. Billingsley came to South Wales in 1813 and began what was to become a very significant 13 year period in Welsh ceramics.
His journey started at Nantgarw where in 1813, with his son-in- law Samuel Walker and two daughters Lavinia and Sarah, began producing some of the finest of all porcelains.See the full content of this document
