Jones Is Ready to Shuffle Pack for the Leicester Visit

Summary

Cardiff city boss Dave Jones could be set to spring a surprise today by leaving out Scotland defender Kevin McNaughton against Leicester. As the Bluebirds look to ease back into the Championship play-off places at Ninian Park, Jones is considering starting with McNaughton on the bench and playing Wales international Joe Ledley at left-back. Peter Whittingham, the transfer-window signing from Aston Villa, who made his first City start in the 2-1 win at Wolves, will keep his place on the left of midfield. Jones' selection dilemma comes with the return to fitness of Kerrea Gilbert, who missed last weekend's Molineux victory. McNaughton played at right- back that day and Jones may well slot Gilbert back into that role while persevering with the attack-minded Ledley on the left.

Whatever Jones' decision, there will be at least one enforced change in the heart of the home defence with captain Darren Purse out for up to three weeks with a back injury.
