Summary

Jonathan woodgate has no intention of quitting Real Madrid and insists he owes the club for standing by him through his extensive injury problems. Woodgate joined Madrid for pounds 13.4m from Newcastle in August 2004 but had made just one start - against Athletic Bilbao last month in which he scored an own goal before being sent off - prior to last night's Champions League clash with Rosenborg.

But the England defender, who it was rumoured may quit the club in January, scored the second-half equaliser in Madrid's 4-1 win last night and hopes it will be the start of a successful stay in Spain.
