Bracket clocks are so called because they were produced to be placed on a wall-mounted bracket, today however you are more likely to find them on a side table or sideboard.

The movements of these clocks are usually spring driven clocks with a pendulum, the design is taken from Dutch originals but has been perfected by British clock makers over the centuries.
