SIR - I read in the Western Mail (June 27) of the desire by the Editor (Comment) and Tanni Grey-Thompson ("Tanni's tips for winning youth vote") to lower the voting age to 16.

When the voting age was lowered to 18, was there a resulting increase in voting? I suggest not; and if you cannot get the over- 18s interested in politics then you certainly won't attract the 16- year-olds.
