PLAID Cymru MP Jonathan Edwards' call for the reform of the Barnett Formula to be an essential ingredient of any future coalition deal between his party and Labour is a logical step forward from the existing One Wales agreement.

In 2007 the parties agreed, at Plaid's insistence, to set up an independent funding commission to look into claims that Wales was seriously underfunded because of the way the formula works.
