THE MPs' expenses scandal returned with a vengeance yesterday with Gordon Brown being asked to repay more than pounds 12,000 and former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith ordered to apologise over second home expenses.
The Prime Minister agreed to return cash he had received for cleaning, gardening and maintenance after auditor Sir Thomas Legg said any claim above pounds 2,000 a year for cleaning or pounds 1,000 for gardening was excessive and should be repaid.See the full content of this document
