Swansea has seen its retail sales climb by a fifth in the first three months of the year, latest figures suggest. The fifth Swansea City Centre Retail Sales Monitoring Report shows a marked increase in non-food retail figures during the first quarter of 2004, compared with the same period last year.
In January, non-food retail sales grew by 19.6% compared to 2003 - a figure equivalent to 17.2% above inflation and 15.8% above the national average sales growth during January.See the full content of this document
