The Mary Rose went home last night - 437 years late - after a day of drama, tension and tears, as she was lifted from her watery grave. The Tudor warship was finally recovered from the muddy bed of the Solent and towed into Portsmouth harbour, the same port she left in 1545 on her ill-fated voyage to fight the French.
But the successful completion of the operation was tested to the last by a mishap, as the Mary Rose was being lifted in her special frame.See the full content of this document
