A MASSIVE check of underworld contacts was ordered last night by Scotland Yard after Ronald Arthur Biggs, aged 35, gaoled for 30 years at the Great Train Robbery trial, had escaped over the wall of Wandsworth Prison in London.
Yard officers believe that Biggs was "sprung" by the same gang who raided Winson Green Gaol in Birmingham last August and released Robert Charles Wilson, another train robber.See the full content of this document
