Royal Academy Stars to Perform for Queen

Summary

Two young Welsh music stars will perform for the Queen at the Royal Academy in London today. Tenor Owain Llyr Williams and Claire Jones, who is the official harpist to the Prince of Wales, both won scholarships through the Arts Council of Wales to assist them with their Royal Academy studies.

Owain, originally from Carmarthen and a former pupil of Bro Myrddin Comprehensive School, began his year-long course at the Royal Academy in Musical Theatre last September, with the aim of pursuing a career on the West End stage. He recently attended a masterclass with actor Hugh Grant.
