Former Welsh scrum-half Rob Howley last night bemoaned Wales' sluggish start against Japan, but praised Gareth Jenkins' men for a much improved second-half performance. A slew of handling errors and turnovers marred the first half from a Welsh perspective, but a greater sense of direction in the second period was an encouraging sign for next week's crucial tie against the Fijians.
"I think the first half showed a lack of confidence," said Howley. "I think second half we were much more confident on the ball, we were more clinical, and that showed in the expression of the players.See the full content of this document
