IN MAY you will be asked whether you want to keep the current voting system for the Westminster Parliament, often called first- past-the-post (FPTP), or switch to the Alternative Vote (AV).

The referendum will shape the future of democracy in Britain. I will be voting against AV because it is expensive, complicated and a politician's fix. At a time like this, our country can't afford to bring in a voting system that would make elections unfair.
