WAles has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the UK and Europe, and it's time for a 21st-century nation to take a look at itself and ask, for goodness' sake, why? These are not the Dark Ages. The way biology works is not a mystery, and the relevant information is readily available. Whatever the ethical or religious concerns there may be about teaching sex education, there is surely no reason for teenage girls to become pregnant through ignorance.
But ignorance there is, and part of the problem is the poor quality and patchy provision of sex education in schools.
