ACHIEVING top grades in science subjects is more difficult than gaining an "A" in the arts, it was claimed today.

Researchers who analysed data from nearly a million exam results found subjects like physics, chemistry and biology at A-level are a whole grade harder than drama, sociology or media studies, and are three-quarters of a grade harder than English, RE or business studies.
