THE end of the Government's car scrappage scheme could be followed by a sales "black hole", one of Wales' leading motoring experts warned yesterday.

Although vehicle sales hit a new high during August, Cardiff University's Dr Paul Nieuwenhuis said the motoring sector could face a sudden plummet in purchases after the end of the pounds 300m initiative.
