Summary

SIR - I am a regular reader of The Western Mail. I saw in another paper I take a letter written by one of the people, an Oxford man, who jumped up and heckled Tony Blair from the Visitors' Gallery of the House of Commons. The sitting was suspended while the visitors were thrown out. He said he was unrepentant for what he had done, but was appalled that pounds 2.5m of public money was to be wasted building a special screen (no doubt of reinforced bullet-proof glass), so that Tony would never be subjected to such acute embarrassment again. I think The Western Mail readers will agree with me that if all Tony was subjected to was a bit of heckling he had nothing to complain about compared with all the pain and suffering that many other people have had to endure, apart from the loss of life, since that fateful meeting between him and Bush after 9/11.

Once this protective screen goes up he will become even more divorced from the rest of the human race and reality than he already is. The only person he seems to pay attention to is Bush the oracle; us lot over here, his fellow countrymen, he treats with disdain.
